Summit Aviation, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, announced today that it will be expanding its aviation parts manufacturing operations in Somerset, Kentucky.
Summit’s manufacturing facility provides aero structure product assembly for a variety of military and commercial helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. Additionally, it has paint capabilities that support prime and finish components. The company will expand from its current location of 26,000 square feet to a newly constructed 40,000 square foot facility. The expansion is possible due to a collaboration between industry, local investors and the Pulaski County government.
“This is a proud moment for us,” said Director of Manufacturing for Summit Aviation Scott Roush. “In four years we have quadrupled our business, and this move allows for our continued growth. Our success in Kentucky is an example of the power that can be built between public and private sectors to ensure that these types of jobs continue to flourish in this community.”
"Summit Aviation's expansion is a testament to the successful growth of the company and the incredible workforce we have in southern and eastern Kentucky," said U.S. Rep. Harold "Hal" Rogers. "We are grateful to Summit Aviation for planting roots in our region with plans to expand operations and create more jobs for our people."
The facility is being built by Industrial Leasing, LLC and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
