DAC International, a Greenwich AeroGroup Company, announced today that it has reached a multiyear distribution agreement with Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC), a Montreal-based designer and manufacturer of flight management, navigation and other high-tech avionics systems.
Esterline CMC Electronics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bellevue, Washington-based Esterline Corp., and has operations in Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, Ontario and Chicago. Under the agreement, DAC will serve as an international distributor of CMC’s new CMA-6800 LCD displays, helping promote the product and arrange maintenance and other after-market support for the units.
“We are glad to join forces with CMC, which has produced high-quality avionics for decades and expands the options available to our customers,” said DAC General Manager Cisco Hernandez. “CMC will be a valuable partner for DAC.”
The product covered by the agreement, the CMA-6800 LCD display, is designed to smoothly replace aging CRT units in older business jets. The CMA-6800 weighs less, consumes less power and offers greatly reduced maintenance costs compared with the increasingly obsolete displays it replaces. The units use existing symbol generators and EFIS controllers, and do not require aircrew retraining.
