Western Aircraft, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, announced today that it received its fifth OSHA Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) covering a span of ten consecutive years.
“Safety for both our customers and our employees is engrained in our culture,” said Western Aircraft’s Manager of Environmental Health and Safety Dan Zegar. “We strive to be a leading example in our industry through a continuously evolving safety program.”
According to OSHA, the national average DART (Days Away, Restrictions and Transfers) rate for 2015 is 3.4 and Western Aircraft documented a Dart rate of 0.59 for 2015. The national average for TRC (Total Recordable Cases) rate for 2015 is 5.1 and Western Aircraft documented a TRC rate of 1.78 for 2015.
Since 2006, Western Aircraft has been granted OSHA’s SHARP award, which covers multiple years, for its exemplary safety and training program. SHARP recognizes employers with less than 250 employees who operate excellent safety and health management systems. It is one of the highest awards OSHA can give to a small company.
